The man who was reportedly practising yoga at the Isha Yoga Centre has left behind a suicide note stating that he was committing suicide due to depression.
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a youth from Andhra Pradesh ended his life by suicide on Thursday night by hanging himself at the Isha Yoga Centre where he had been reportedly practising yoga.
The deceased has been identified as Kollu Ramana (32), a native of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. To cure his depression, Kollu Ramana joined the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore for a six-month yoga course. He had been staying at the Isha Yoga Centre for the last one month but suddenly ended his life by suicide on Thursday night and also left behind a suicide note in his room stating he was committing suicide due to depression.
Based on the information received by the Alandurai police, the police reached the spot and recovered Ramana's body. His corpse was sent to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem. Meanwhile, Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, Badri Narayanan said that a letter written by the suicide victim had been recovered from his room and an investigation was underway. Following this, a police team led by DSP Thirumal is conducting an investigation at the Isha Yoga Centre.
Isha Yoga Centre is home to thousands of devotees from all over the country who have booked and participated in the special yoga and meditation classes being held at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. The yoga and meditation classes aim to encourage peace of mind and physical health.
