16-year-old race car trainee succumbs to grievous injuries sustained during training in Coimbatore

LGP 1300 range of race cars are reportedly internationally compliant and have various safety features, but the youth crashed on July 1 while training despite all safety features of the race car.



Coimbatore: The death of a 16-year-old boy who crashed during race car training in Coimbatore on July 1 and succumbed to grievous injuries on Wednesday night has left the city shocked and sad.

Krisnend Chatterjee (48) hails from Gurgaon in Haryana and works there in a private company. His wife is Aradhana Dand Chatterjee and they have a son named Nanam Chatterjee (16). Nanam was in Class 10, in a private school in Haryana. Since Naman Chatterjee had a passion for car racing, he joined a private car racing training center in Haryana. After the completion of the first phase of training, both Aradhana and Nanam Chatterjee had arrived in Coimbatore to undergo the second phase of training from June 29.

Later on, during a morning practice session on July 1 at Karimotar's Speedway Track in Settipalayam area of Coimbatore, Nanam reportedly lost control of the LGP 1300 race car he was driving and veered off the runway, hitting the iron bar on one side.

Bystanders rescued the youth who was seriously injured in the head and waist and rushed him by ambulance to a private hospital in Sundarapuram area of Coimbatore for immediate treatment. Naman, who was in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital was under constant observation by doctors. In this case, he died last night without treatment.

LGP 1300 range of race cars is internationally compliant and has various safety features. Also getting into an accident is normal, but no one died in this car accident in India. In this case, the incident of the death of a 16-year-old boy during training has shocked both the family and residents in Coimbatore.
