Coimbatore: Six men were arrested for indulging in cockfighting gambling near Pollachi.
Following complaints raised by residents of Achipatti Private Garden area near Pollachi that cockfighting gambling was prevalent, the taluk police were patrolliing the area when they caught six men indulging in gambling.
Subsequently, the police arrested Pradeep (32), Sakthivel (27) from Puravipalayam, Dhinakaran (38) from R V Pudur area, Aravindan (21) from C Gopalapuram area, Bharathan (23) from R Ponnapuram area who were involved in cockfighting gambling. Tamilselvan (30), who joined the gang was also arrested. The police seized the three roosters used for the gamble and Rs. 700 cash from the men.
