Various intellectual and cultural activities have been planned to enlighten the participants on the recent developments in the field of Horticulture as well as to motivate students to showcase and hone their cultural skills.
The Horticultural College and Research Institute of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore is geared up to conduct its spring fest 'HORTI UTSAV 2022' on July 23. In line with this year's theme 'An Aesthetic Fest of Joy,' various intellectual and cultural activities have been planned to enlighten the participants on the recent developments in the field of Horticulture as well as to motivate students to showcase and hone their cultural skills.
The students of the Horticultural College and Research Institute at the Coimbatore campus will host the event with students from the five Horticultural Colleges in various parts ofTamil Nadu invited to showcase their talents. For the function, the Alumnus of HC&RI, TNAU, Coimbatore, Dr. V J Chandran, the Inspector General of Police, Puducherry will be the Chief Guest and felicitate students during the Valedictory Ceremony in the evening.
The Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, Dr. V Geethalakshmi and the Dean of HC & RI, Coimbatore, Dr. P Irene Vethamani will help in guiding the students to host the event. Various inter-college competitions including quiz, fruit and vegetable carving, handscaping, fire-less cooking, singing, dancing, etc., are to be conducted as a part of the Fest. These events are aimed at enabling students to understand the aesthetic significance of Horticulture and evoke their creativity. A scientific exhibition based on various Horticultural concepts is also to be organized by the students.
