Man on two-wheeler patiently stands up to lone elephant and escapes unharmed on Athirappilly Road near Valparai

The entire incident was captured on video by another person in a vehicle on the same road, and the video has gone viral


Coimbatore: The video of a man who escaped in spite of coming face-to-face with a wild elephant on Athirappilly Road has gone viral.

Kerala's Athirappilly Road in Valparai district attracts a large number of tourists, and riders on two-wheelers are a common sight in the forest reserve area. With Athirappilly just about 80 km from Valparai forest, tourists throng this road in large numbers to enjoy the sight of wild elephants, tigers, leopards, bisons, etc. crossing the roads.

Testan hails from Kallur in Chalakudy, Kerala. En route to Chalakudy area on a two-wheeler from Valparai on Sunday via the Malukkaparai Forest Road, a wild elephant was standing on the road when Testan was riding through the Malukkaparai forest area. Testan stopped and patiently waited for a long time for the elephant to go into the forest. The elephant approached him and touched him with his trunk and banged his bike but Testan remained silent without showing any signs of fear.



The elephant then reportedly walked away into the forest without harming Testan. The entire incident was video recorded by a person in another vehicle on the same road, The video has since then gone viral on social media.
