The two cars collided with each other due to sudden braking when the drivers suddenly noticed there were speed bumps ahead.
Coimbatore: Even as a spate of accidents on the newly-openedRamanathapuram flyover on Trichy Road left locals shocked, there was one more accident on Wednesday when two cars headed towards Ramanathapuram from Coimbatore Government Hospital braked suddenly after noticing that speed bumps had been erected ahead. This resulted in both cars colliding, and one passenger was injured.
Police are investigating the accident.

The earlier accident which had occurred due to speeding caused the administration to erect speed bumps on the flyover.

This in turn has caused the recent accident. A few days before the speed bumps were erected, another motorist had died after falling from a height of 40-feet on the bridge. There was a partial block on the road, near the arches of the bridge.

The public is demanding iron railings on both sides of the flyover immediately to avoid further accidents on the flyover.
