Coimbatore: A Special Sub-Inspector of Police in Coimbatore has been suspended for demanding a bribe of Rs.2,000 for conducting an autopsy.
Balamurugan, a resident of Gandhi Ma Nagar in Coimbatore ended his life by suicide on June 23. The Saravanampatti police had registered a case of suspicious death and were investigating. When Balamurugan died, the police recovered his corpse from the house and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem.
