Acting on a tip-off received by the Special Cell police, on the orders of district SP Badrinarayanan, the police conducted a raid and seized 565 kg of prohibited items.

In Coimbatore district, special forces have been formed to prevent the illegal sale of Gutka products and the sale of ganja in the city and suburbs.
Accordingly, the Special Police received information that tobacco and Gutka products were being sold in Periyanayakanpalayam area. To check the shop special police team raided the place.
During the raid, the special police seized 565 kg of banned tobacco products stashed in the godown. Also, two persons, Yeshwanth (22) and Nishanth (24), who had brought it for sale, were arrested.
The police also confiscated the four-wheeler used to transport and sell these tobacco gutka products to various places and produced the two arrested persons in the Coimbatore court and imprisoned them.
