Coimbatore: The police have registered a case and are looking for a youth who stabbed a friend for asking for money to drink alcohol in Coimbatore district.
Selvam (34) hails from Ramanathapuram Sungam Bypass Road, Coimbatore. Painter. He came from Singanallur to Ramanathapuram by bus. Then Kundu Manikandan who is already familiar with the same bus came in the same bus.
Then Manikandan asked Selvam for money to drink. But he refused to pay. When the bus reached the Ramanathapuram Chinthamani bus stop, Selvam got off the bus and walked home.
Manikandan followed him even then. Suddenly he took out the knife he had hidden and demanded money. Then there was an argument between them. Enraged at this, Kundu Manikandan stabbed Selvam with the knife he was holding.
Then he fled from there. Passers-by rescued him and admitted him to a private hospital in the area as he struggled for life. Doctors are treating him there.
