There is no enmity between DMK and BJP; its just that our ideologies are totally different- BJP State President Annamalai in Coimbatore

The DMK is spreading false propaganda about the central government's schemes. There is no enmity between the DMK and the BJP. Our ideologies are different. "We are highlighting the mistakes of the DMK in the public," he said.

Coimbatore: BJP state president Annamalai inaugurated a mobile people's grievance redressal service vehicle called "Namakkaga Namma MLA" on behalf of BJP national women's wing leader and Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan at Kempatty Colony in Coimbatore.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, he said that he would meet the Tamil Nadu Governor on May 21 and submit a petition regarding the passport scam in the state.

He alleged that the state government had not taken any action in the matter. He said that he would file a complaint with the Avaniyapuram police station in Madurai regarding the issuance of fake passports. The chief minister said don't play with national security and has not given a single charge memo in the matter so far.

He also urged the Chief Minister to take strong action irrespective of which government has been in place. It is a matter of pride for Tamil Nadu that the Chess Olympiad is being held in Mamallapuram. He also said that “since PM Modi has been invited to the event, the possibility of his participation is high. The Chief Minister said that the event should be held in a grand manner.”

To a question on students protesting against the 'Selfie with Anna' programme in Tirupur colleges, he said the volunteers had arranged for the programme for youngsters to be inducted afresh. "When I heard about it, I told the volunteers to avoid going to colleges without prior permission and told them to go to the colleges with permission," he said.

A particular student organisation engaged in a heated argument with the BJP. This is not something to be magnified. "My stand is that there is no politics inside the college and the BJP should do such programmes more carefully," he said.

He said the BJP will not enter into the internal matters of the AIADMK and the BJP-AIADMK relationship continues. Friendship with all the leaders continues, he said. He said that the decision-making power of the AIADMK leadership rests with the party's cadres and functionaries and the BJP will accept the party's decision on the issue of leadership.

"We have brought to the notice of the Union Finance Minister that 5 per cent GST has been levied on rice," he said, adding that the tax was put unanimously in the GST Council. It will not be good to do politics on this issue and the BJP will fight for a solution to the problem, he said.

"We have lodged a complaint with the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau regarding the corruption in Tamil Nadu and no one can escape our vigilance," he said. The state government is working to save someone in the fake passport issue. If there is no proper investigation, we will go to court," he said.

He also demanded a CBI probe into the Pongal package scam and said it was the DMK's full-time job to drag the governor into a fussy fight. "No one can say that the Governor is wrong in his functioning and the DMK is politicising his actions and speeches," he said.

He also said that the biggest boredom of the DMK government has come to the people and the DMK is doing politics by dragging the Governor into a fuss to divert it. It is doubtful whether Dravidar Kazhagam General Secretary Veeramani is aware of the legal plan. Periyar University is under the control of the state government.

The 10th question in the post-graduate history question paper is about who gave the title to Periyar and the 11th question is about caste. DMK has been doing politics for 70 years with Periyar in one hand and caste in the other. He said the chief minister was refusing to accept the mistake of the Dravidian model of rule and it was Veeramani who should condemn the chief minister.

I am not abusing the DMK. It is the DMK that is abusing me. It is spreading false propaganda about the central government's schemes. There is no enmity between the DMK and the BJP. The principles are different. "We are highlighting the mistakes of the DMK in the people's forum," he said.

BJP state vice-president Prof. Kanakasabapathy, farmers' wing leader G K Nagaraj, BJP city district president Balaji Utham Ramasamy and others were present on the occasion.
