Constable Kalimuthu (29) reportedly shot himself in the right abdomen with his rifle while on security duty at the Government exhibition venue in Coimbatore on Friday.
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, an Armed Forces Constable on duty shot himself while on duty at an exhibition in the Coimbatore Jail premises. The Coimbatore Police Commissioner V Balakrishnan who rushed to the spot inspected the scene.
Kalimuthu (29) who works as an Armed Forces Constable in Coimbatore was on security duty at the venue of the Government exhibition being held in the Coimbatore Jail premises, on Friday. It is reported that he shot himself in the right abdomen with his rifle. Kalimuthu was then rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
The suicide bid by a young constable while on duty has shocked police circles as well as the public.
