Awareness drive held in Pollachi to make rural students participate in Chess Olympiad commencing in Chennai from July 28

The work of pasting awareness stickers of the Chess Olympiad on school vehicles and public transport vehicles is being carried out on behalf of Regional Transport Officers and Revenue Department officials.


Coimbatore: Awareness stickers are being pasted on school vehicles and public transport in Pollachi to encourage rural students to participate in the Chess Olympiad in Chennai on July 28.

The 44th Chess Olympiad is scheduled to begin on July 28 at Mamallapuram, near Chennai. In this regard, the Government issued an order to create awareness among the public. For this, a consultation meeting was held at the Pollachi Sub-Collector office.

The meeting was presided over by the Pollachi Sub-Collector, Thakare Shubham Dnyandeorao, Interview Assistant Venkatachalam, Adi Dravidar Welfare Divisional Tahsildar Thanikaivel and Physical Education teachers from various schools and colleges participated in the meeting.

Consultations were held on how to create awareness among the general public about these competitions which will be held from July 28 to August 10. The Chess Olympiad will include art programs, sports competitions and marathons to encourage rural students to participate. College and school administrators have been advised accordingly.
