The 5-year-old girl's mother lodged a complaint at the All-women Police Station that a 47-year-old labourer from the same neighbourhood had sexually assaulted her child.
Coimbatore: A 47-year-old man in Pollachi has been arrested under the POCSO Act for sexual assault of a five-year-old girl in a village near Kottur, in Pollachi.
The mother of the minor girl lodged a complaint at the All-women Police Station that a 47-year-old labourer had sexually assaulted her child. She stated that she had left her child at home and gone to work. While returning home in the evening, she alleged that she found a 47-year-old labourer from the same locality emerging from her house. When the mother questioned her daughter, she was told that the man had misbehaved with her.
The girl's mother then lodged the complaint and the police at the All-women Police Station investigated and confirmed that the girl had been sexually assaulted. Following this, the police registered a case against the labourer under the POCSO Act and produced him before the court, and sent him to jail.
