In Tirupur, an awareness rally organised by the People's Movement for Clean Cities was flagged off by the Mayor and the MLA of the Corporation.
Tirupur: An awareness rally was organised by the People's Movement for Clean Cities in Tirupur in an effort to create awareness among the public.
As part of this, students from a private school participated in a program held near the Old Bus Stand in Tirupur on Wednesday and took an awareness pledge on people's movement for clean cities.
The Tirupur Corporation Mayor, Dinesh Kumar and MLA Selvaraj participated in the event and distributed cloth bags that were donated by the school administration to the public, to create awareness among the public that they should use cloth bags instead of plastic bags. Later, Mayor Dinesh Kumar and MLA Selvaraj flagged off the awareness rally.
The students who participated in the event took out a procession through the main streets of Tirupur carrying awareness banners on the need to keep Tirupur city clean. They also distributed pamphlets to the public.
