Due to very heavy rains since Monday morning, the inflow of water to the Sholayar Dam was 7100 cubic ft. per second leading to the 165-feet dam being filled to the brim. The dam has been opened for safety reasons with the discharge from the dam being 1070 cubic ft. through three sluices and 4400 cubic ft. through the saddle area, leading to a total discharge of 5470 cubic ft.
