CCMC Commissioner inspects hygiene and development works in city's Southern Zone areas

The CCMC Commissioner M Prathap personally inspected the progress of the construction of the Anganwadi Centre at the Corporation Middle School premises in Mettur area at an estimated cost of Rs.15 lakh.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner, M Prathap personally visited and inspected the development works in the city's Southern Zone.

The CCMC Commissioner examined the attendance records of sanitation workers in Ward No. 94 at the Health Inspector's office and advised the sanitation workers to wear masks and gloves and continue to diligently segregate garbage in all 100 wards of the Corporation. He also instructed the sanitation workers to create awareness and segregate garbage from the public into compostable garbage and non-biodegradable garbage.



Thereafter, the CCMC Commissioner inspected the Sundarapuram tomato market under Ward No.96 and ordered the concerned officials to set up shops for traders in the market and take concrete steps to improve the tomato market, in Tirumalai Nagar under Ward No.95. Under the Tamil Nadu Sustainable Urban Development Plan (TNSUDP), the road construction work was inspected and tarred roads were proposed in some areas.



After instructing the engineer to prepare the project estimate, the Corporation Commissioner M Prathap personally inspected the ongoing construction work of the Anganwadi Center at the Municipal Middle School Complex in Mettur area, under Ward No.100, at the cost of Rs.15 lakhs. M PRathap also asked the engineer to take steps to complete the work quickly and ensure quality for it to be used by the public soon.





During this inspection, Southern Zone President Dhanalakshmi, Assistant Commissioner Annadurai, Assistant Executive Engineer Karpusamy, Chairman Karthikeyan, Councillors Abdul Khader, Aslam Pasha, Sarala, Assistant Engineer Sabrees, Zonal Health Officer Ramu and Corporation officers were present.
