A woman staged a dharna at a police station in Tiruppur demanding that the police rescue her husband from his illicit lover.
Sumathi and Venkatesh, both residents of MS Nagar in Tiruppur have a 17-year-old daughter. Venkatesh who is reportedly in an illicit relationship with another woman has abandoned his wife and daughter. He is allegedly living in Pandian Nagar with the other woman who is said to be from Theni disrict.
Sumathi lamented that she had lodged more than 20 complaints at the Tiruppur North police station and the Thiruvarur police station but no action had been taken against her husband, thus far. Traumatised by her husband's behaviour, Sumathi gheraoed the Tirupur North Women's Police Station and staged a dharna in front of the police station demanding that her husband be rescued from the illicit lover and be reunited with his family.
