Income Tax Dept. raids house of former Minister S P Velumani's PA's brother

There was a commotion as the raid was being conducted since AIADMK functionaries gathered at the spot.


Coimbatore: The Income Tax Department conducted searches at the residence of Vasanthakumar, the brother of Santhosh, an aide of former Minister S P Velumani. The raid was done in Mayilkal area near Kuniyamuthur in Coimbatore on Sunday night.

Earlier, the Income Tax Department had also conducted searches for three days at the residence and offices of Vadavalli Chandrasekhar, a friend of former Minister S P Velumani and the publisher of the 'Our Amma' daily. Following this, the IT department conducted searches for the third consecutive day at the residence of Chandraprakash, a friend of Chandrasekhar and Managing Director of KCB, and also at his office for the fifth consecutive day.

On Sunday night, when Income Tax officials conducted a raid at the house of Vasanthakumar who works in the office of Vadavalli Chandrasekhar, there was a commotion raised by AIADMK functionaries who were gathered there.

While it has been reported that various documents were seized during the searches at the residences of Vadavalli Chandrasekhar and Chandraprakash, the raid at the house of Vasanthakumar has caused a stir in the AIADMK circles.
