The petition stated that if an e-crematorium and a place are allotted for the maintenance of pets in urban areas, they will abide by the Government's legal provisions and take care of the pets.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore-based 'Ezhuchi Karangal Trust' has submitted a petition to the District Collector's office demanding an electric crematorium to bury pets.

Raj Krishna, Trustee stated in the petition, "For the last 10 years, we have been providing first-aid to pets if they have been injured in road accidents and if they are found dead, we have been providing burial.
Nine years ago, a petition was submitted to Karunakaran, the then Collector of Coimbatore, to allot land for the construction of a burial ground. On receiving the petition, the District Collector recommended an allotment of land in the Kinathukadavu area.
Since we have asked for a place in the city area, scrutiny is underway. Later, the public cannot protest against the burial of pets in city areas.
Therefore, if we are given priority and given space for e-crematorium and maintenance to bury pets in urban areas, we will take care of the pets in accordance with the Government's legal provisions."
