Coimbatore: With Covid-19 cases on the rise in Coimbatore district for the past few days, the Corporation administration has been actively taking various preventive measures.

A few days ago, masks were made mandatory in public places in Coimbatore again on the orders of the Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran.

Since only a few people were adhering to the rule, the Coimbatore Corporation administration has begun to impose fines on those who do not wear masks in public places like bus stops, cinema theaters, and shopping malls where the public generally gather in large numbers.

Mukundan, In-Charge of the Covid Control Room said, "The Covid Control room which functioned round-the-clock in the main office of the Corporation during the severe impact of the first and second waves of Covid-19 has again been reopened and is functioning.

Arrangements have been made to identify public grievances and get redressal immediately," he reassured.
