Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan has urged the Government to fill up the vacant post of English teacher for Classes 11 and 12 at the Ramakrishnapuram Girls' High Secondary School in Ward 63 of Coimbatore Corporation.
Coimbatore: Vanathi Srinivasan, the BJP MLA from Coimbatore South constituency has requested the Government to immediately fill up the vacant posts of English teachers at Ramakrishnapuram Girls' Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore.
In a statement, Vanathi Srinivasan said, "The English teachers for Classes 11 and 12 at Ramakrishnapuram Girls' Higher Secondary School in Ward 63 of Coimbatore South assembly constituency are on a long leave. Leela Maheshwari, an English teacher who taught Classes 11 and 12 has been transferred. Now that the admission process for Class 11 students is underway, the post of English teacher is still vacant which will affect students. This has been brought to my notice by the public and students of the area.
English is very important. To teach English language lessons to girls studying in Tamil medium, skilled English teachers are required. Teachers of other subjects cannot teach English as a subject. Therefore, even before the commencement of Class 11, the vacant post of English teacher in Ramakrishnapuram Girls' Higher Secondary School should be filled up. The students studying in Government schools come from simple families.
Therefore, it is essential to learn to speak and write in English for their higher education and bright future. Therefore, the Coimbatore Corporation and the Government of Tamil Nadu should intervene and take immediate steps to appoint an English teacher. Even a day's delay will affect the future of the students. Therefore, the Tamil Nadu Government should take immediate action," reiterated Vanathi Srinivasan, the Coimbatore South MLA.
