Coimbatore District Police launches 'Project Pallikoodam' at Kongunadu Arts and Science College

About 300 people including Headmasters, Assistant Headmasters and Physical Education teachers of 94 schools in Coimbatore participated in the inaugural function.



Coimbatore: In a bid to create sexual awareness among all the school children in Coimbatore district, the District Police launched an awareness program called 'Project Pallikoodam' on Wednesday at Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore.

The objective of 'Project Pallikoodam' is to prevent any crimes, including sexual abuse against children in Coimbatore district and to protect them from such crimes.



The inaugural function of the awareness meet was held with about 300 people including Headmasters, Assistant Headmasters and Physical Education teachers from 94 schools participating in the event.



Awareness was also created on contacting *1098* for reporting crimes against children, the Coimbatore District Police control room number *94981-81212* and WhatsApp number *77081-00100*.



IG (West Zone) R Sudhakar presided over the function. Coimbatore City DIG of Police M S Muthusamy, Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Badri Narayanan, District Education Officer, Periyanayakanpalayam Sub-Divisional Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajapandi and the Administrative Secretary of the college, and police were present.
