Man arrested under Goondas Act for selling cannabis in Valparai; 3.5 kg cannabis seized

Police have arrested and jailed a man involved in a chain of cannabis sales in Valparai under the Goondas Act.


Coimbatore: A man involved in a chain of cannabis sales in the Valparai area of Coimbatore district was arrested by the police and jailed.

Maria Soosai (50) of Valparai was arrested under the Prevention of Goondas Act on the orders of the Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, Badrinarayanan and the Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran.

The police seized 3 kg and 500 grams of cannabis from Das on March 25 and arrested him under the Prevention of Goondas Act and lodged him in the Coimbatore Central Jail.
