Coimbatore: Isha Samskriti students made Tamil Nadu proud by winning two bronze medals at the national-level Khelo India Youth Games held in Haryana.
Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) are the annual national-level multi-disciplinary grassroot games held to promote sports in India and to identify talented young athletes.
The KIYG 2021 was held this month in Panchkula, Haryana. Archery, Athletics, Football, Field hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Shooting, Swimming, Tennis, Table tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Fencing, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Karate are the sports included in the games alongside Yogasana and Malkhamb. About 180 young athletes from different states in India participated in the competition.
Isha Samskriti students won bronze medals in the Thiru Inban Tamil Traces category and Padmesraj Meypayattu category. The Isha Samskriti in Coimbatore offers a wide range of traditional arts such as Yoga, Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music. The alumni who have undergone many years of rigorous training at Isha Samskriti have been teaching the arts worldwide, under 'Project Culture.'
