47th Anniversary of Emergency declared by Indira Gandhi: This is a terrible day and blot on Indian democratic history - BJP state treasurer SR Sekhar

Only those over the age of 65 can understand the true nature of this day, It was a black day in the history of Indian politics. Those who brought this day into a reality were from the Congress party - BJP state treasurer SR Sekhar

Coimbatore: BJP state treasurer SR Sekhar met reporters at the BJP office on VKK Menon Road in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Yesterday is the 47th anniversary of the loss of human rights due to Emergency declared by Congress. 47 years ago using the Constitution of India an emergency was declaredin India. 352-Section was issued by the then President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, through it all we have been building for so many years, Freedom of speech, human rights, writing, the right to worship, freedom of the press, the right to go to court were all crushed. It was a terrible day for the Constitution to be exempted. In a way it is not understandable to the people of Tamil Nadu, only those over the age of 65 can understand the true state of this day.

If today's younger generation need to understand it, imagine how it would have been if the covid-19 pandemic had spread more and threatened the people, but the cause for the pandemic was a political party.”

He lamented that it was a black day in the history of Indian politics and that those who brought this day were the Congress party. They are now moving around very freely today, today they are slandering freedom and making accusations against the state.
