Police have warned that stern action will be taken against those involved in gambling with illegal money.
Coimbatore: Nine people have been arrested for gambling at Ramapattinam near Pollachi. The taluka police received a tip-off that money laundering was taking place in the Ramapattinam area near Pollachi.
Following this, the police rushed to the spot and arrested nine men who were gambling.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the detainees were involved in gambling illegally with money. Later they were identified as Karuppusamy (42), Selvaraj (45), Siva (23), Nagaraj (35), Anandan (44), Aruchamy (44), Subramanian (23), Subhash (23), Selvaraj (31), Sakthivel ( 36) and all nine men were charged and arrested. Also, Rs.16,800 was confiscated from them.
