In the case where a government bus driver collided with a pedestrian on road, the accused has been sentenced to six months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000
Coimbatore:Kalimuthu (28), son of Nanjan, hails from Apachi Goundan Pathy, near Coimbatore. His wife gave birth to a baby boy on September 12, 2017, at the Coimbatore Government Hospital.
He came to Coimbatore Government Hospital with his relatives to see the baby and tried to cross the road there to go back home.
Following this, Kalimuthu was critically injured in a collision with a government bus (No. s27) bound for Sultanpet from Ukkadam and survived after intensive treatment.
Senthilkumar (30), the government bus driver, was booked by the Traffic Investigation Division police and is being investigated.
The case was taken up in the Coimbatore court. Following the completion of the trial, Judge Saravana Babu sentenced Senthilkumar to six months imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000.
