The meeting was chaired by the District Chairman Srinivasan and was attended by a large number of executives from various parts of the state including Coimbatore, Pollachi, Anaimalai, and Kinathukadavu.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District General Body Meeting of Tamil Nadu Rural Development and Panchayat Union Employees was held at Pollachi. The meeting was chaired by the District Chairman Srinivasan and was attended by a large number of executives from various parts of the state including Coimbatore, Pollachi, Anaimalai, and Kinathukadavu.
State President of the union Balasubramaniam, who attended the meeting, told reporters:

“The big panchayats and panchayat unions in Tamil Nadu should be divided into two, and new panchayat unions should be started for administrative convenience in the field of rural development, just as new Tahsildar offices are created in the revenue sector.
To implement the schemes of the Central Government in the Panchayat Unions including the Mahatma Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme, Jal Jeevan, Regional Development Officer workplaces should be created.
As per the long-standing demand of panchayat secretaries, they should be paid by the treasury.
Including the demand that the Government of Tamil Nadu should immediately fill the vacancies in the Panchayat Unions in Tamil Nadu, many demands have been fulfilled.”
