Coimbatore: The new Coimbatore City Police Commissioner V Balakrishnan has directed the police to be kind to those who approach them to lodge complaints.
After the transfer of Pradip Kumar as the Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police, V Balakrishnan who was the Central IG took over as the new Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police on Wednesday.
On the night of his first day in charge, V Balakrishnan inspected three police stations in Ramanathapuram, Podanur and Kuniyamuthur. “Those who come to lodge a complaint should be seated and their grievances should be heard and appropriate action should be taken. The police should be on standby at every police station before a crime is committed and the crime scene should always be kept under police surveillance. Those who come to the police station for interrogation should never be put in a state where they lose their life, and they should be treated kindly as their physical condition may be bad,” advised the new Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police, V Balakrishnan.
Later, he asked about the shortcomings of the police personnel in the three police stations. Following this, V Balakrishnan also inspected the traffic congestion near Coimbatore Government Hospital and Trichy Road on Thursday morning and interacted with parents who were waiting to take their children to the schools located on that road.
“Even though parents are allowed to take their children inside the school premises and drop them off, most of the auto drivers stopped on the road and dropped the children off, causing traffic congestion,” pointed out the new Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police. Following this, he consulted with the police at the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner's Office and particularly inquired about drug trafficking and crime in the Coimbatore metropolitan area and ordered that appropriate action should be taken.
