2 load workers killed, 2 injured while transferring glass from one lorry to another

Babu and Abu Tahir died on the spot, while Shah Jahan and Abu Tahir were injured in the tragic incident and admitted to Coimbatore Government Hospital.


Coimbatore: Two load workers were tragically killed when the glass they were transferring from one lorry to another fell at a glass godown in Coimbatore.



In the Selvapuram area of Coimbatore, there is a privately-owned glass godown called 'Swadeshi Glass House.' Mustafa alias Babu, son of Musa from the Karumbukadai area, Abu Tahir, son of Ali from the Selvapuram area, Shah Jahan, and Abu Tahir are employed as load workers in this godown. When the four men were transferring glass from one truck to another on Wednesday, the glass they were carrying fell on the men, unexpectedly.



Babu and Abu Tahir died on the spot, while Shah Jahan and Abu Tahir were injured in the incident.

Following this, the Selvapuram police rushed to the spot and sent the two injured to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. The police recovered the bodies of the deceased Babu and Abu Tahir and sent them to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy.

The Selvapuram police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the freak accident.
