Tirupur Corporation, at the Thennapalayam Vegetable Market, the Minister of Information MP Saminathan initiated an intensive clean-up operation with the “My garbage is my responsibility” pledge.
Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu Chief minister MK Stalin last week launched a clean-up operation on behalf of the People's Movement for Urban Cleanliness.
As a part of it, intensive cleaning work is being carried out today in Tirupur Corporation on behalf of the People's Movement for Urban Cleanliness.
The Minister of Information MP Saminathan read out the pledge and inaugurated the cleaning work in the Thennampalayam vegetable market. The event was attended by the Tirupur South Assembly Member Selvaraj, the Corporation Mayor Dinesh Kumar, the District Collector Vineeth, and the Corporation Commissioner Kranthi Kumar Pati among others.
The Minister, who initiated the clean-up operation, along with the cleaners, collected and cleaned the garbage in the market. Following him, the MLA, the mayor, the district collector, and the corporation commissioner were all involved in the clean-up operation.
More than 200 cleaners cleaned the Thennampalayam market and its surrounding areas.
