Officials from HR and CE have recovered 30 cents worth of land belonging to the Karpaga Ganesha and Pongaliamman temples in the Kurichi area of Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Acquisition of encroached lands belonging to The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department throughout Tamil Nadu is in full swing.
30 cents of the 60 cents of land belonging to the Karbhaka Ganesha and Pongaliyammanar temples in the Kurichi area of Coimbatore district was reported to have been encroached. This was reported to the officials of The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.
Following this, the Podanur police went there with security and inspected the lands with the help of the Revenue Department. It was then revealed that the lands indeed have been encroached. Following this, the authorities of The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department have recovered 30 cents of land worth Rs 6 crore belonging to the temple.

The authorities who went there for this purpose cleared the encroachments by bokline and the temple land was reclaimed and handed over to the hereditary trustee of the temple.

A notice board was also put up stating that 30 cents of land belonged to the temple.
