The Thadagam Road across areas like Venkatapuram, Velandipalayam, Kovilmedu and Idayar Palayam has been in a state of utter disrepair for more than five years.
Coimbatore: The public has demanded that the Coimbatore Corporation speed up the widening and repair work of Thadagam Road. Various major roads in the Coimbatore district are in a dilapidated condition and locals have been demanding for the repair and relaying of these roads for a long time.
Taking this into account, Minister Senthil Balaji has initiated the construction of a 32 km road stretch in places such as Kalapatti, Udayampalayam, Vellai Kenaru, Edayarpalayam, Lawlee Road, Kurichi, Sundarapuram and Echchanari at the cost of Rs.113 crores.
The Thadagam Road covers areas such as Venkatapuram, Velandipalayam, Kovilmedu and Idayarpalayam for a distance of 7 km and has been dilapidated for over five years now. Drivers of four-wheelers and riders on two-wheelers have been extremely inconvenienced, especially at night and during the rainy season.
The public has thus lauded Minister Senthil Balaji's move to widen and repair the roads, two days ago and were hoping that the project would be completed soon.
