3 persons including 17-year-old youth arrested for selling cannabis in Coimbatore

The police seized 21 kg of cannabis, Rs. 2 lakh in cash and 2 two-wheelers.


Coimbatore: On receiving a tip-off that cannabis was being stored and sold from a house in Coimbatore, the Thudiyalur police questioned a few men in a house in Saravanampatti, in the Sulur area of Coimbatore.

After a search of the house, the police found that the three men were hoarding and selling cannabis from the house. Following this, Lakkuchamy (28), Ajithkumar (24), and a 17-year-old boy from Virudhunagar, who were staying in a rented house of a man named Pradeep were arrested and interrogated. It was then revealed that they were involved in selling cannabis in various parts of the district, by using the rented house as their base for the past six months.

Following this, the police arrested the three youth and seized 21 kg of cannabis, Rs. 2 lakh in cash and a couple of two-wheelers from them. Lakkusamy, who was also arrested, already has two cannabis cases pending against him. A two-wheeler theft case is pending against Ajith Kumar. All three youth were produced before a judge by the police and remanded in custody.
