TNAU celebrates World Food Safety Day 2022

World Food Safety Day 2022 was celebrated at the Department of Food Process Engineering, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore on June 7.


Coimbatore: World Food Safety Day 2022 was celebrated at the Department of Food Process Engineering, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore on June 7.

M Balakrishnan, Professor and Head of the Department of Food Process Engineering at TNAU welcomed the gathering. Dr. A Raviraj, Dean, AEC&RI, Coimbatore delivered the Presidential Address in which he created awareness as well as emphasized the importance of food safety. The Special Address was delivered by R P Kingsley Ambrose, Professor, Purdue University, USA who explained about the food safety testing mechanisms followed in laboratories.

Faculty members and first year students of Food Technology AEC&RI, Coimbatore attended the event. K Gurusamy, Assistant Professor (Biochemistry) a TNAU concluded the event with a formal vote of thanks.
