Unidentified elderly man killed on Coimbatore-Sulur highway

A speeding car collided with the 65-year-old man near Sulur, knocking him down as he attempted to cross the road.



Coimbatore: A car speeding from Kerala to Coimbatore collided head-on with a 65-year-old man who was attempting to cross the road, near Sulur on the Cochin National Highway at around 7 pm on Monday night. The old man died on the spot.

Upon receiving information, the Sulur police recovered the body of the old man and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. 



Since the deceased has not been identified, the police registered a case based on a complaint lodged by the Sulur Otterpalayam Village Officer, Loganayaki.

The identity of the deceased is being investigated. Moreover, the police are also interrogating the driver of the car that caused the accident who has been identified as Mohammad Haniba from Palakkad, Kerala.
