Ashok Ramkumar (40) hails from Manmangalam circle, Karur district. He runs a banyan export company in Karur. Sangeetha Mills, run by the Palladam AIADMK city secretary Ramamurthy (40), has been giving the yarn to his place and converting it into cloth through weaving looms.
Tirupur: He has given 1 lakh kg of yarn to be converted into cloth in the year 2020. But after receiving the thread, Ramamurthy has been dragging it out without weaving it into cloth. The yarn is worth Rs 1.25 crore. Also, when Ashok Ramkumar enquired about this, Ramamoorthy threatened him saying “I will not give anything like thread, cloth or money”.
Following this, Ashok Ramkumar registered a case with the Palladam police, demanding them to take action against the Palladam AIADMK city secretary Ramamurthy, who was constantly involved in such unethical activities.
Accordingly, the police registered a case against Ramurthy on the 30th. Ramamurthy was arrested by the crime branch police. The Police have also registered a case against Shankar Ganesh, who worked as a cashier at Ramamurthy's mill, and are conducting further investigations on the same.
