Various welfare schemes were presented to the public at Kalaignar’s 99th birthday celebrations held under the leadership of Minister Senthil Balaji in the Madukkarai area of Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Various events were held across the district to mark the 99th birthday of the late former Chief Minister Kalaignar
As part of this, Electricity Minister Senthilpalaji presided over Kalaignar's 99th birthday celebrations held on behalf of the DMK East District in Madukkarai, Coimbatore.
During the function, the public was offered sewing machines, shaving materials, sacks of rice, dhotis, and sarees. The Madukkarai Government Hospital was provided with various items such as wheelchairs and trolleys.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Senthil Balaji said “the election promises have been fulfilled since the DMK government took over. The promised 4000 rupees were given per family card. Nearly 75-percent of the total promises made in a single year have been fulfilled.”

He also praised the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for being the greatest pioneer of all Chief Ministers in India.
He further added, “throughout the month in various parts of Coimbatore district, in about 4-thousand places will pay floral tributes to the picture of Kalaignar, weekly street meetings will be held in about 400 places and the Dravidal Model Training Workshop will be held in 10 constituencies.”
