Coimbatore: Sujith Mighty, a resident of West Bengal, had taken up residence in a room on Chetty Street, Coimbatore. He is said to have been involved in the business of buying pure gold from jewelry shop owners in Coimbatore and making jewelry out of it.
Santosh, who hails from the Indira Nagar area of Coimbatore, runs a gold jewelry wholesale business. On the 7th of last month, he gave 759 1.58 zero grams of pure gold to Sujith Mighty for making jewelry.
Days had gone by since Sujith Mighty was tasked with the making of the said jewelry. Following this, his cellphone was not reachable, a suspicious Santhosh registered a complaint with the Selvapuram police. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
Meanwhile, Kanagaraj 53, of Chetty Road, Coimbatore, has been in the gold jewelry business for the past 40 years. Sujith, who is a regular there, has been making gold jewelry for him for the last few months. Having built up trust, on the 16th he gave 420 grams of pure gold to Sujit. Similarly, Kanagarajan's friend had also given 578 grams of gold to Sujith to make gold jewelry.
In a similar circumstance as Santosh, Kanagaraj also filed a case on Sujith with the Periyakadai Veedhi police. Police are investigating the case based on his complaint.
