Photo exhibition held at Coimbatore District Collectorate to mark Kalaignar’s 99th birth anniversary

The photo exhibition featured key events of late Kalaignar’s political career and public welfare programs that he had initiated.



Coimbatore: The late former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Kalaignar Karunanidhi's 99th birth anniversary is being celebrated by the members of the DMK all across Tamil Nadu.



Following the Chief Minister M K Stalin's announcement to celebrate Kalaignar’s birth anniversary as a state-wide function, a photo exhibition of Kalaignar’s political career and public welfare projects was held at the Coimbatore District Collectorate on Friday.



District Collector G S Sameeran visited the photo exhibition that featured photographs of important events in Kalaignar’s political career, such as meetings with prominent political figures such as former Indian Prime Ministers, former Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Periyar, and Abdul Kalam.



Photographs that were taken while he presented public welfare programs were also on display.



The photo exhibition also specifically features photographs of Kalaignar’s welfare projects for the District of Coimbatore at the 'Semmozhi Maanadu' that took place in 2010.
