People presented various petitions at the 'Jamabandi' initiative held at the North Tahsildar office in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: 'Jamabandi' was held at all the Tahsildars' offices in Coimbatore district from May 23 to June 3. As part of this initiative, the people of Anupparpalayam and Telungupalayam villages in the area attended the 'Jamabandi' and presented their petitions at the Coimbatore North Tahsildar's Office on Thursday. The annual Jamabandi event was not held for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Petitions were filed by the general public in PN Puthur, Seeranaickenpalayam, Pusari Palayam, and Velandipalayam areas under the Telungupalayam village to voice out their grievances on issues regarding old age help funds, widows' help funds, help funds for women abandoned by husbands, help funds for aging spinsters and free housing bonds.

During the event, people from the Pappanaickenpudur area, led by Shanthi, a member of the 41st Ward Council of the Coimbatore Corporation, filed a petition regarding their problems. After receiving the petitions, the Social Security Project Officer Murugesan submitted the petitions to the concerned authorities and assured the petitioners that their grievances would be addressed soon.
