District administration warns Kindergartens, Primary Schools and Matriculation Schools against operating without accreditation in Coimbatore

The schools have been advised to operate only with initial and continuous accreditation under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009.

Coimbatore: The district administration has stated that self-financed and financially-aided schools operating under the Department of School Education should not operate kindergartens, primary schools, elementary schools and matriculation schools without initial and continuous accreditation under the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009.

According to a press release issued by the District administration, schools operating with permits must obtain initial accreditation within three months, and schools operating without such accreditation must withdraw their permit. It has also been stated that kindergartens and elementary schools should be started only after obtaining permission, and the establishment of schools other than the Government or local body should not be continued without the certification of an official authorized by law.

Therefore, action will be taken to close down kindergartens, primary schools and matriculation schools operating in Coimbatore district without initial approval and continuous accreditation. Parents are also advised to ensure that schools are accredited before enrolling their children in school.
