Abate drug spray in water tanks, removal of unwanted items and inspection of water stored in public places are some of the measures being used by the staff to prevent spread of dengue.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation staff involved in mosquito eradication measures are visiting houses, door-to-door, in the Housing Unit area under the Coimbatore Corporation's East Zone Ward No.60 to spray Abate in water tanks, remove unwanted items and inspect water in public reservoirs. The extensive exercise is to prevent the breeding and spread of dengue mosquitoes.

Special cleaning work is being carried out in the Northern Zone of the Coimbatore Corporation, on the roadsides of Mettupalayam Road and the roads surrounding the Thudiyalur Center Media. The Corporation staff are diligently spraying the Abate drug in water tanks and removing unwanted items in Keezh Veedhi No.3 and Doctor Colony, in Coimbatore Corporation Central Zone Ward No.48. The staff are also inspecting water stagnation in some areas that could become breeding ground for mosquitoes that cause denue fever.
