AITUC Load Workers' Union stage protest in Tirupur demanding current pay hike

The Union condemned the non-issuance of the new wage increase agreement and the denial to acknowledge their labour for the past 40 years.


Tirupur: Over 70 load workers are employed in rice shops situated in Arisi Kadai Veedhi in Tirupur. More than six months after their wage-hike agreement, the Rice Shop Owners’ Union has reportedly not yet paid in line with the current pay hike.



The AITUC Workers' Union which has been operating in the Tirupur Arisi Kadai Veedhi, condemned the non-issuance of the new wage increase agreement and the denial to acknowledge their labour for the past 40 years and hence staged a protest in front of the Tirupur Municipal Corporation office. The protesters chanted slogans emphasizing their demands.
