iDEX, CDIIC, AIM collaborate to host outreach program at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore

Office Bearers of CODISSIA, Directors of CDIIC, MSMEs, start-up owners, researchers and various students from Trichy, Chennai, Kovilpatti and areas in and around Coimbatore, attended the event.


Coimbatore: An Outreach Programme was organized by Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) in coordination with the CODISSIA Defence Innovation and Atal Incubation Centre (CDIIC), Niti Aayog, and Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) on May 30 at D Seminar Hall, at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.

M V Ramesh Babu, President, CODISSIA welcomed the participants, while V Sundaram, Director, CDIIC briefed the gathering on the progress made at the CDIIC.

Vivek Virmani, PO(G) & COO, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, attended the meeting virtually from New Delhi and briefed about the Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC6). Jatin Arora, Programme Executive, DIO gave a detailed presentation and launched the video of DISC6 and iDEX Prime.

A panel discussion on Defence Innovation and Indigenisation was held and moderated by Dr. KSuresh Kumar, Executive Director, PSG STEP, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and President, ISBA.

The panellists present were Air Cmde. K A A Sanjeeb VSM, Air Officer Commanding, 5 Base Repair Depot (5BRD), Sulur, Dr. T K Varadarajan, Nodal Officer, DGQA Facilitation Cell, Coimbatore, Cmd. E David, Officer In-charge, Aircraft & Engine Holding Unit (A&EHU), INS Agrani, Coimbatore and Wg. Cdr. P Madhusoodhanan, Vice President (A&D), Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor who participated in the panel discussion virtually from Chennai.
