Manokaran had been harassing his father Velliangiri, into paying several lakhs of rupees as interest on the loan of Rs. 50000.
Coimbatore: Through the Coimbatore District Citizens' Right to Life Association, Kumar, a resident of Singanallur had petitioned the Coimbatore Collector that Manokaran, a financier, has been allegedly torturing him for usury interest.
Speaking to reporters, Kumar said that “Manokaran had been harassing his father Velliangiri, into paying several lakhs of rupees as interest on the loan of Rs. 50000. His father who is currently receiving treatment at the Coimbatore Government Hospital after leg surgery was constantly harassed along with his differently abled brother for usury interest money.
Kumar and his relatives who came to file the petition put up posters with the words "Kanduvatti … cruelty .. meter interest ... confiscate the ATM cards of the sanitary workers of Singanallur from Kanduvatti Manokaran, and take action on the Kanduvatti complaint lodged by Velliangiri and arrest Manokaran"
