Parents of children under Govt. aided RTE free education scheme of shut private school in city petition Collector

The parents alleged that the school administration which had shut down the school without any prior notice had not allotted other schools to their children in spite of promising to do so.

Coimbatore: Parents of children studying under the Government-aided RTE free education scheme at the private Little Kingdom Primary School in the Gandhi Nagar area of Coimbatore have petitioned Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran to take appropriate action against the school administration for closing the school without any prior notice.

Parents alleged that when the school administration had been questioned on the lack of prior notice about the school being shut down, they were told that it was due to a lack of funds and were assured that their children would be allotted other schools. They also complained that the school administration had lied to them stating that it had sent them the list of children studying in the RTE scheme without even sending it to the Government. They alleged that even though it had been a month, their children have not been allotted schools yet.

The petitioners requested the District Collector to take action against the indifferent attitude of the school administration that has affected the schooling of their children and to ensure provision for their children were admitted immediately into other schools.
