While the working mom is always on the run, between the two ends- that of office or a company and her home -she is also weighed in by the demands of both of running the household, looking after the children and attending to her official duties at an office or company.

The work-life balance of a mom has come under a lot of stress these days and it has always been a subject of debate.

She is often forced to divide her time between her official duties and motherly responsibilities leaving her at her wit's end.

The result is the working mom becomes often stressed out and some of them quit their office jobs after pregnancy or some illness in a huff, but only to regret it later.

A balancing act is offered by the millennial moms who have emerged as an expert in this tightrope walking by finding the right space social media now.

"I was working as an HR manager in an MNC. But after my delivery, I decided to quit as I wasn’t sure if I could balance both work and my child. Then it was my mother who gave me  the confidence to go ahead with my career while she would help me in taking care of my child,” stated Nikita Jain.

While going back to the office after childbirth is quite a possibility for some, of others it proves the abrupt end of their professional career. But when one door closes the other door opens as they say.  Here is an opportunity to work from home and become a mompreneur.

“I was working in an IT firm and in the post-delivery days, I have realized I couldn’t balance both, I had to quit my job to give my time to newborn baby’s upbringing.  Even though motherhood proved a full-time job, I sometimes found time for myself and that’s when I realized, I could do something from home. This way, I would be able to balance both my ‘jobs” said Vidhya Ravichandran, who started “Aydiv” a handmade-gifting option made out of paper and wood.

Ms. Vidya added “Working as an independent entrepreneur gives me more satisfaction and makes it easier for me to balance my work - life equation. I am not stressed out these days but on a strong footing as  a mompreuners, a heady cocktail of mom and entrepreneur.

Soon there was group of entrepreneur-minded moms, who have struck upon an idea to give a platform to likeminded moms in the city, who want to take up an avocation and achieve as 'mompreneurs'.

“Mompreneur support group is an informal group which was formed when a group of Mompreneur felt we needed to have a support system in place,  to understands problems and troubles faced by women in running a business,” said  Hemalatha, founder of Book Bunnies, a pre-loved bookshop owner and also one of the admin of the mompreneur WhatsApp group.

“A woman can empathize with another woman better. And so we started a WhatsApp group to help out the moms who are in need of a support system, and a platform for networking necessities for to start their venture and sell their wares and products they make at home” she added.

The group was started by a few Mompreneur that includes Shrinithi, founder of Shiksha group of schools, Piancy, an online toy shop owner and Selva Veronica, an online seller of mom and kid essentials.

These moms have come a long way in understanding how to balance the work life demands. They have also mastered the art of marketing their products through the group. “Homemade products starting from ornaments, gift items, designer clothing and even homemade food products are in huge demand and we get orders from all over” say the mompreuners.

Currently, the group is going great with about 35 mompreneur networking and supporting each other to share ideas and vision in the group. The mompreuners stand up for each other and come up with solutions for each other, in starting a business or brain storming a budding idea.

The team members also meet once in a month face to face with a formal agenda like learning the tools of digital marketing and also share their journey and stories.

While attending to the motherly duties to their children they have also managed to chart out their paths in running a business, these mompreuners are certainly the new generation of women, who knew their real worth and knew how to leverage technology to boost their business and personal growth.
