OnePlus 6 sales touch Rs 100 crores during the early preview sale on Amazon India

OnePlus 6 is already proving to be more popular that its predecessor, OnePlus 5T.

OnePlus 6 is already proving to be more popular that its predecessor if early sales numbers are anything to go by. The smartphone went on its first sale at 12PM yesterday exclusively on Amazon India as early access to OnePlus community and Amazon Prime members. The Chinese smartphone maker has now announced that it set a new record in terms of its first day sales.

The company says OnePlus 6 has achieved a record Rs 100 crore sales within the first 10 minutes of the preview sale held on May 21. The sale exceeds entire day 1 sales of the OnePlus 5T within the first hour, the company said in a released statement. According to IDC, OnePlus 5T was the best-selling smartphone in the premium segment during the first quarter of 2018. While OnePlus is not sharing direct sales numbers, the record sales does indicate that OnePlus 6 could possibly become the best-selling smartphone in the coming quarters.

OnePlus 6 is now available via open sales on Amazon India. The smartphone comes with Rs 2,000 cashback on SBI debit and credit cards and exchange benefit up to Rs 13,050. The smartphone also comes with no cost EMI benefit up to three months and Rs 2,000 cashback with an Idea 4G connection. There are also offers for free 12 month damage insurance from servify and Rs 250 as Amazon Pay Balance when you stream videos on Prime Video.

OnePlus 6 Specifications and Price

OnePlus 6 builds on the thin bezel design seen on its predecessor and switches from unibody metal design to glass back. It features a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and taller 19:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and comes in three storage variants – 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of 256GB internal storage.

The smartphone comes with dual rear camera setup like its predecessor and OnePlus says it has improved the setup with sensors supporting larger pixels. There is a combination of 16-megapixel primary and 20-megapixel secondary sensors. Both the sensors have wider f/1.7 aperture with the primary sensor getting optical image stabilization as well. The secondary sensor does not do tricks like 2x optical zoom and is there to aid the portrait mode effect. OnePlus 6 also retains the 16-megapixel selfie camera seen on its predecessor.

OnePlus 6 runs OxygenOS based on Android 8.0 Oreo and even supports Android P beta via developer channel. The smartphone does not come with any IP rating but is protected against daily wear like splash of water or exposure to rain. Yes, just don’t plan to take it on a swim. The smartphone supports WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and 4G LTE.

OnePlus 6 is available in three different colors this year- mirror black, midnight black and silk white. The smartphone is priced at Rs 34,999 for the variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs 39,999. There is also a Marvel Avengers Limited Edition model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage priced at Rs 44,999.
