Xiaomi 's first Android One smartphone, Xiaomi A1 is going on sale today (September 12) on Flipkart and company's website Mi.com at a price tag of Rs 14,999. This also makes the Mi A1 first Xiaomi smartphone with two back cameras in India. It is 7.3mm thin and comes in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colour variants.
The key highlight of this device is the dual-rear camera setup that has a 12MP wide angle and a 12MP telephoto lens for an improved bokeh effect in portrait shots. The telephoto lens enabled 2x optical zoom. This pairs with Mi A1's 10x digital zoom. Some of the camera features users will get include Beautify 3.0, Portrait Mode, HDR and more. At the front, the smartphone has a 5MP camera.
Sporting a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a full-metal body with rounded edges. Under the hood, there is a mid-range octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clubbed with 4GB RAM and Adreno 506 GPU.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat and comes with pure Android UI onboard. It ditches the MIUI interface, which the company has been touting in its handsets since years. Running Android One on the Mi A1 will result in quick OS updates, bug fixes and a clean interface. It has been also announced that the Mi A1 will be getting Android 8.0 Oreo and Android P as well.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 supports 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, hybrid SIM card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS and Bluetooth. It is backed by a 3080mAh battery and has a fingerprint sensor at the back. The smartphone comes with 64GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card.
